Abstract:
The Administrative Services Collection consists of materials taken from the Administrative Affairs Office of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Collection is comprised of correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, studies, campus service reports, construction plans, and dedication services. The Collection covers the years 1901-1993.
Historical Note:
The office of Administration has gone through many significant changes over the years. In 1959, G.M. Wissink was appointed Administrative Dean by President C.L. Crawford. Wissink remained Administrative Dean until 1970. In 1970 the position went through a name change, and became Vice-President of Administrative Affairs. Merlin G. Duncan was appointed Vice-President of Administrative Affairs under President Nickerson. Duncan remained in this position until 1975. In 1982 The Office of Administrative Services was created. The position of Vice-President for Administrative Services was created in conjunction with the Vice-President Fiscal Affairs, and Vice-President of Community Relations. Dr. Claire E. Faust was appointed as Vice-President of Administrative Services by President Margaret Preska in 1982. Victor Colway was the last person to hold the position of Vice-President of Administrative Services.
Scope and Content:
This collection has been processed into two series. The Series are based upon General Information and Correspondence. Researchers are encouraged to view the entire collection. Original Order has been maintained whenever possible.
General Information:
Material within this series consists of reports, maps, planning guides, meeting minutes and agendas, and dedications. Folders may not be rearranged into its respective series.
Correspondence: This series is made up of incoming and outgoing correspondence between the Vice-President of Administrative Affairs Office and various other departments in and around MSU.
