The Philip C. Hall collection consists of audiocassette tape, CD duplicate of the audiocassette, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Hall and Deborah Overholtzer during the winter of 1991. Hall began worked as a physical education/health teacher and as the senior high counselor at Redwood Falls High School. His career in education began in 1954. In the interview, Hall discussed the changes and areas of continuity in the role of an educator for the period between 1954 and 1991. He focused on the changes in the expectations that parents have for teachers, and the changes that have occurred concerning the social expectations of students and their peers.
This oral history interview was conducted as a requirement for the graduate level Educational Foundations course entitled History of Education in American Culture at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota.
