Michael William Bernarde was born on November 14, 1989 in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Mr. Bernarde grew up in Sussex, Wisconsin and played football both on the offensive line and defensive line. Bernarde attended MSU Mankato as an undergrad from 2008-2012 and majored in History with a minor in coaching. During his undergrad Bernarde was a part of the MSU football team as an offensive lineman starting his junior and senior years. He began his coaching career in the spring of 2014 as the assistant offensive line coach and then took over as the tight ends coach in the spring of 2015.

Bryan Schmid was born on October 16, 1988 in Fresno, California. He then moved to Menasha, Wisconsin where he attended Menasha High School and played football and graduated in 2007. He then decided to come MSU and play football where he was a defensive end and earn playing time in all 4 years at MSU. Bryan Schmid has been coaching the defensive line at MSU since 2010. Coach Schmid is married and now lives in Mankato with his family. Coach Schmid earned his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State in Sport Management in 2010 and completed his master’s degree in Sport Management in 2013. During the interview he tried to provide a good overview of what MSU Football was all about and what the team’s daily life is like. He was able to give a very detailed description of how the football team works.
