The Ashley Ruh collection consists of an audio recording, biographical form, and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Ruh and Zeara Alvarez in April 2011. Ashley Ruh was born May 15, 1989 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Ruh attended Coon Rapids High School and graduated in 2007. In the fall of 2007, Ruh began at Minnesota State University, Mankato. While at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Ruh worked in the Memorial Library as a student worker. Ruh graduated magna cum laude in Spring 2011 with her Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement. Ruh hopes to attend law school after Minnesota State University, Mankato.

She graduated May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Speech Communication.

The Travis D. Laster collection consists of an audio recording, biographical form, and interview outline of an oral history interview conducted between Laster and Zeara Alvarez in October 2010. Laster attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2008-2010. In this interview, Laster talks about his experience as a veteran coming in to MSU, his reasons for his decision to attend college as a college athlete, as well as his overall experiences as a student at MSU.
This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Travis was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The latter part of his high school years he lived in Griffin, Georgia. He served as a Marine before he went to college; however, he had plans to attend college before entering into the Marine Corp. Although he did not anticipate having to go to war, he ended up fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He began his college career at a community college while he was stationed in San Diego, California. He then transferred to Mt. San Antonio College to play football and earn his Associates Degree. Following Mt. San Antonio College he was recruited to play football for Southwest Minnesota State University where he stayed for a year, then transferred to play football and run Track & Field at Minnesota State University, Mankato. It was at Minnesota State University, Mankato he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies and continued his education at a graduate level, also in Communication Studies. At the time of this interview he was training to possibly play professional football, which is his first choice in careers. His second choice is to use his degrees to pursue something in the field of news/media.

He received honors as a graduate student at Minnesota State University, Mankato, as well as an employee. He is married to Allison W. Moultrie and has one child named Xavier Maxille Ade Tokundbo Moultrie.
