The Melissa Cornelius collection consists of a biographical form and an audio CD and transcript of an oral history interview conducted between Cornelius and Jamie Maag in October 2007. Cornelius attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2005-2008. In this interview, Cornelius talks about why she chose to attend college and her college experience , where she lived while attending Minnesota State Mankato, organizations she was involved with, her normal school week, memorable faculty members, and her plans after graduation.
This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Melissa Cornelius was born Feb. 18, 1985 in Minnesota. She attended Maple Grove High School in Maple Grove, Minnesota and graduated in 2003. After high school, Cornelius attended North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota from 2003 to 2005 where she completed the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum. Cornelius then attended Minnesota State University, Mankato from 2005 to 2008 where she majored in speech communications and minored in marketing. In May 2008, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Speech Communication.
