This collection consists of the transcript, an audiocassette tape, and 1 CD duplicate of the audiocassette tape of an oral history interview with Harvey Lincoln Anderson, conducted in 1977. Anderson was the owner of Ski Haven, which later became Mount Kato. During the interview, Anderson talked about activities, businesses, and industries, in the Mankato area from his childhood until about 1940. He discussed specific activities like canoeing, downhill skiing, and ski jumping. Also, Anderson talked about his role in the construction of the Rapidan Dam.
Harvey Lincoln Andersen was born in Mankato, Minnesota in September 1893. He married Pauline Elizabeth Heggerness in 1927. They had two children together. The Andersens founded a ski area named Ski Haven during the winter of 1937. They operated the property for nearly forty years, until it was sold and renamed Mount Kato.
