The Winston S. Grundmeier collection consists of one audiocassette tape, a CD duplicate of the audiocassette, a transcript, and a biographical form and interview outline of an oral history interview conducted between Grundmeier and Sally Stenzel in July 2007. Grundmeier was employed at Mankato State University 1958-1990. In this interview, Grundmeier talks about his family, his education, and his time as a chemistry professor at Mankato State University. This oral history interview was conducted as part of the Tell Your MSU Story Oral History Project conducted by the Southern Minnesota Historical Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Winston Stanley Grundmeier was born November 15, 1929 in North Mankato. He attended Mankato State Teachers College and received Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Math in 1952. During this time he was a member of the Science Club and Young Republicans Club, president of Sigma Zeta National Science and Mathematics Honor Society and played in intramural volleyball. He went on to Iowa State University where in 1954 he received a Master of Science in Chemistry. After a few years in the U.S. Air Force he attended Kansas State University where he graduated with a Ph.D. in 1964. He was a chemistry professor at Mankato State University starting in 1958 and retired in 1990. He married Shirley Grundmeier in 1963.
